Phalaborwa Grade 11 students conducted mini research projects during the school holiday (5-9 October 2015) on topics such as how overgrazing causes loss of grass species and cover, and accelerates soil erosion.
Weather stations were presented to the headmasters of the participating schools on the day of the event.

The Annual Biodiversity Career Day organised by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) took place at the Kirstenbosch Research Centre and Centre for Biodiversity Conservation in Cape Town in March this year.
The overall objectives of the camp are to strengthen the learners’ scientific thinking by encouraging and enabling them to develop and complete their own scientific projects, and to evaluate personal skills and goals in the light of future career choices.
